Club run reports - 16th April

Category 6 ride led by Claire Gopoulos

Welcome and well done to new member, Ryan, on his 2nd ride out with the club.  Also welcome to Daniel who joined us on this ride as he is building up to ride to Mersea with Kevin in June – good luck with that chaps.

Weather was good for this ride with sunshine on occasions and no need for rain gear, which is a bonus.  The group set off promptly at 9 as ride leader, Claire had to get back to see ABBA Voyage in the evening.  For some reason no other girls had come along for the ride but that could have been due to miscommunication about some hanky panky being bandied about on WhatsApp!

There was very little corner stopping on the way out and the group arrived at Mill End in good time so that there was plenty of Bakewell tart left and some other attractive tarts as well, all of which were very good and filled us up for the pacey return journey.  On leaving Mill End some members attempted to confuse the ride leader regarding the route but that was soon resolved and all set off in the right direction.  The ride leader only went the wrong way a couple of times which was soon corrected by other members of the group who had very sensibly loaded the route onto their Garmins.  

Trying to keep the group together was a bit like herding cats. However all were accounted for at the end, which was considered a great success and we got back to the car park in good time at 12:55.
