Alas the Tortoise Tea Room is living up to its name as it cannot cope when a group turns up.  However the ten who went to Parrishes at Thaxted had a good morning out.

The start of the Weds tours, but only three turned up.  Should be more next week as word gets around.

Lots of riders out, and lots of punctures.  Eleven riders and four punctures on the slow ride made for a lot of standing around in the cold and a long day.  We arrived back at the start in order to wave off the four on the afternoon ride.  The five off roaders experienced five punctures between them and although seven speedsters turned up for the fastie, Mark managed to bypass the puncture problem by breaking a spoke instead.  At least it was something different!  The weather was not especially bad on the day, but the last few days have washed so many flints onto the road.  Bullet proof tyr

Those of you who wish to combine the word very (as many times as you like) with the words wet and windy (but not cold ) would get an accurate appreciation of the weather conditions.  Despite this, four diehards took part in the easy pacer and fortunately did not suffer from any further problems.

Another large turnout for the number of rides provided.  In reasonably warmish and mainly dry weather everyone made their way to the destinations without any incidents.

About 30 riders hit the roads today on a bright but cool and windy morning.  Unfortunately this rather overwhelmed the (in this case) aptly named Tortoise Tea Room.  Next time we'll have to organise ourselves a little bit better.  Still, it was good to see so many of us out today.

We saw something today that has not been around for much this year - rain.  This brought out a selection of punctures on both the easy (six out) and medium (twelve out) rides.  The medium ride was delayed the most, and we got back over an hour later than expected.  With the rain came the cold, so not the most accommodating day for riding.

A large group of riders met at the Ware car park for what turned out to be an enjoyable ride in excellent conditions.  Twentyone took the medium ride and two the easy pacer to Buntingford.  There were two cafe destinations and as they were within 30 yards of each other everyone just split up according to whether they wanted tea & cake, or tea & something cooked!  Three took to the road for the fast ride - they did not need to worry about a tea stop.  Sadly when it came to JP's ride in the afternoon nobody was able to "Come & Try," so he had to ride on his tod.

After a cold and somewhat foggy morning temperatures soon rose to something acceptable.  Thirteen riders started from Much Hadham, although this would have been more had another two or three found the correct start point at the correct time!  With a further six riding the easy paced tour, HWCC was well represented on the roads.

Many riders out on a pleasant, sunny morning.  With eleven riders having competed in the Club TT, the medium ride started slightly later than normal and visited Emily's at Whitwell.  After this some carried on further whilst others took a fast thrash back home.  Meanwhile the ever popular easy pacer took off to Hare St.

A bright, sunny day enabled 13 riders to turn out for the medium ride.  For a change we headed south via Northaw and the backstreets of Borehamwood before heading north via Radlett, Shenley and Brookman's Park.  Another 10 enjoyed the delights of the easy-pacer to Buntingford including a forensic examination of Jane's bike at Barwick Ford.

And was it wet, or was it wet.  Still the ten or so who turned up at Hertford knew what they were letting themselves in for.  The three medium riders went at a fair pace to Wandon End and back, and the rest went at a slightly slower pace to Codicote.  And was it wet!

Eighteen out on a bright, sunny day.  Seven went to Writtle whilst the remainder went to Buntingford.  The excellent conditions made for good and enjoyable riding.

A cold and icy morning soon warmed up as eighteen riders took to the roads for the three rides.  It was good to be out riding after the previous couple of weeks and hopefully we'll all be able to put in some decent training to sustain us through the coming months.

With so many Wheelers making a judgement call based on the previous evening's weather, it was a surprise that both rides still went ahead.  With three on the medium and four on the easy, it turned out that the main problems were the mist, rain and cold as opposed to ice and snow.

No rides this weekend as we were beaten by the snow & ice.

Considering that the weather was cold, foggy & damp it was a surprise to see so many riders out this morning.  With well over twenty leaving Ware, and four more taking an earlier (longer & faster) ride to Clavering, HWCC was well represented on the Hertfordshire roads.

Six out on the easy paced ride, twelve medium and two on the fast ride.  A sunny, windblown but dry morning.  One puncture and one skittish horse but no major problems.

Broadmeads car park in Ware was awash with colour as over twenty riders turned out - some even in club kit!!!  A dozen of the group took a meandering medium route to Bps Stortford, whilst the remainder went out at a more leisurely pace.  Apart from a puncture and a broken chain, there were no major difficulties on a dry, sunny and not overly cold morning.

Thirteen took the medium ride and nine chose the easy pacer.  With only one person (puncturing twice) there weren't any other problems on a cool, dry morning.
