Welwyn Track League - 14th June

The dynamic duo Brian(50x15) and Tony(49x15) were back for more. 
The scratch race was interesting with a Welwyn Wheelers rider trying to stay away from about lap 7 which meant some people chased, Brian bridged across to a group of 3 that were chasing.  They then got picked up by the main group who eventually caught the Welwyn rider. Going into the final sprint Brian went for it with just about half a lap (250m) and was overtaken, he caught the riders wheel and started to take back some of the gap but was half a bike from the win and took second. 
In the "Odds and Even number" block pursuit  Tony's odd bunch took a good lead until about 4 laps to go. A big effort from Brian in the evens leveled things but with about a lap and a half to go a big effort from Tony put the odds back into the lead.  Tony managed to finish 4th which was good after his effort. 
The points race was next, one of the young female riders went for it from the gun and no one chased her so Brian went on his own and rode with her taking points on the next 3 laps at which point they were caught by the group and hung on to the end. After the points were added up Brian finished =3rd or 4th (the Commisioner didn't seem to know which) -  but there were only 2 people with more points!
In the 10 miler both Brian and Tony rode well, Brian pulled out with 14 laps to go, Tony kept going with a small group chasing the main group but the commisioner pulled them out with 6 laps to go.  Another good evening.
