Club run reports - Sunday 4th April

Category 6 ride led by Tony Dos Santos

Well, what can I say. The first ride back since lockdown. The sun was out, but it was cold. I I had 10 layers on (I kid you not) and the usual suspects rolled up. First up, no, can’t remember, sorry...lol. 
We all met and were having a chat, as Kate turned up, still hanging, I mean really hanging. Daniel Horn, turned up really hanging. Lol. Then a new member turned up, Hanif; what a lovely fella, you could see he was a lot quicker as he knew all the technical phrases like “cleat” and “pedal”. We were all in awe of him! 
As usual Mr Eldon came round the corner, just before that, Mr Horn screamed at me “let’s go then, Dos Santos”! However, Peter, obviously had been on the sauce! :-)
So the 10 honed athletes set off at 9.28. Yes, we were early setting off. 
We hacked off at 35 mph (no lie, honest) and up we went through a lane and then another lane, lol. I had a love chat with Pete Eldon, then after about 15 miles he said his goodbyes as he wanted to go back on the lash. 
We got to Thremhall and the service as usual was impeccable. Food lovely, company was great and within 30 minutes we were off. 
As usual I was lagging behind and absolutely shattered by 30 miles. I had a nice chat with everyone. 
Once again, I didn’t lose a single person, I’m getting quite good at this. 
No mechanicals or punctures.
