Category 6 ride led by Tony Dos Santos
I decided to start at 9 so we could get some Bakewell tart at Mill End. Only four turned up, plus me. That made it the famous 5! There was Julian, Dick, Anne, George and Timothy! Well, actually there was no one with that name today. Nice to see Martin Phillips coming out again. Boozing Bailey turned up a tad worse for wear after a Saturday on the lash.
We rode off at 9.03, due to David Smith playing with his Garmin. All fixed, and we were off like the dog out of the traps chasing that hare! Now those who know, this ride is always hilly as the “routemaster” made it, but unfortunately Carolyn couldn’t be here today. Like true little troopers we rode through loads of places blah blah blah, cycle cycle.
We got to Mill End Plants at 10.50. My plan had worked, not a single bit of Bakewell had been eaten. Rebecca was having a hard time endeavouring to keep warm! We all ate our food, except Rebecca, who didn’t eat her crusts nor all her brown cake!
We rode off home and nothing exciting happened along the way. In fact, there wasn’t even a dropped chain.
So I can say today, not a single mechanical! Great ride, and thank you for coming. Obviously written on the throne.
